A native of the Los Angles Bay Area and second child of eight children, Charles Bibbs was encouraged by his father to display and perfect his talents. He recognized Charles' gift in early elementary school and pushed him to succeed. Bibbs expanded his intrinsic ability through formal training, attending Long Beach City College, California State University, Dominguez Hills, and the Los Angeles Harbor College. He cites Charles White, R.C. Gorman and Ernie Barnes as influences.
Besides being one of the most prolific artists, Bibbs is committed to entreprenuership and economic development. He uses his time and talents to empower the African American Community. Bibbs is a longtime resident of Moreno Valley, California, where he owns two galleries and a distribution and publishing business, which he operates with his wife and son. |
