Self-Taught artist, Synthia Saint James was born in Los Angeles, California. Her professional career as an artist began in 1969 in New York City where she sold her first commissioned oil painting. She is an international and nationally acclaimed artist/poet exuding the power of color and form with an indelible style. You'll find her work on over 35 book covers (which includes books by Alice Walker, Terry McMillan, Iyanla Vanzant, and Julia A. Boyd), more than 80 greeting cards with images included in UNICEF's card line. She has also licensed her images on gift bags, T-shirt, magnets, boxes, deck cards, puzzles, mugs, and calendars, a cd-ROM, watches and has recently signed a deal introducing "THE SYNTHIA SAINT JAMES COLLECTION", a sportswear clothing line. Off canvas, she is a magnet of positive energy which translates through her art works with complete geometric control. |
